What to expect:
- If anesthetic was used you can expect to be numb for 2-4 hours following treatment. It is best not to eat or drink until you are no longer numb.
- The fillings may be temperature sensitive until the nerves of the teeth become accustomed to the new fillings. The gums may also be sensitive. Both conditions will gradually improve with time. Taking ibuprofen can help in the meantime.
- Avoid chewing anything hard for the first 24 hours after treatment.
- Continue with excellent home care habits of brushing and flossing.
